Our History

Mark Spain, Founder and CEO of Mark Spain Real Estate, is an Atlanta native and a University of Georgia graduate from the Terry College of Business. Mark is a second-generation real estate agent who grew up loving homes, landscaping, and neighborhoods. Further, he developed a zeal for customer service and people after watching his dad in business. With this passion for providing excellence and a desire to deliver an unparalleled client experience, he founded a company focussed on developing relationships and serving people over the transaction, people over money.

In 2011, after 15 years of practicing real estate, Mark Spain joined Keller Williams and formed the Mark Spain Team. Over the next 5 years, the Mark Spain Team helped over 3,500 families close on their homes. In 2016, Mark Spain announced independence from Keller Williams and formed Mark Spain Real Estate. 2016 saw the sale of 1,842 homes, the busiest year yet. Mark Spain Real Estate opened 9 new offices, 3 of those branching out to serve the Charlotte, Raleigh and Nashville areas in the following two years. In 2020, our team at Mark Spain Real Estate surpassed selling over $1 billion in residential real estate and served over 5,600 families for the first time. In 2021, our team nearly tripled it’s sales volume, closing $3.3 billion in residential real estate and helping over 10,300 clients sell or purchase a home. Mark Spain Real Estate again had a record-breaking 2022, selling over 3.8 billion in residential real estate and serving over 11,200 families in selling and buying their homes. The Company has earned a spot as the #1 Real Estate Team in the US for five consecutive years by The Wall Street Journal and Real Trends in addition to being named one of the fastest growing companies in America by Inc. Magazine each year since its inception. Our growth and desire to serve was continued in 2023, helping over 8,600 families reach their real estate goals and reaching over $15.35 Billion in lifetime sales. Our commitment to delivering an exceptional home selling or buying experience remains our top priority as we start 2024.

In 2024, Mark Spain Real Estate served over 67,000 satisfied clients, growing its lifetime sales to over $18.56 billion. Additionally, the brokerage was recognized again as a top real estate team in the US for closed transactions for eight consecutive years, including being the number one real estate team in the US for five consecutive years by the Wall Street Journal and Real Trends.
